Liege: Update on riots

Two youth were arrested Saturday night in the Droixhe neighborhood of Liege after riots broke out there during the afternoon. When police agents wanted to inspect a group of seven youth, two of them became very unruly. The two, Mohammed I (20) and Mounir E. (18) punched the police officers and tried to knock them down many times. Police managed to overpower the two using cudgels and tear gas.

Meanwhile Mohammed threatened to take revenge on the police agents and that he will teach kids in the neighborhood how to make a molotov cocktail. Three police officers were wounded and are released from work for three days to a week. The two youth were brought in front of a court for assault and battery as well as disturbing the public order. The risk a jail sentence of three months to two years.
